Nineteen of the Russian's 21 titles have been achieved on hard surfaces
A resurgent Medvedev won his first championship for 882 days with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
The athlete, a ex- number one, has endured a challenging year, managing just a single victory at the Grand Slams and undergoing a setback at the US Open.
Medvedev's varied form on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serving in especial - caused him dropping out of the top ten and eventually separating with long-time coach his previous coach.
Now working with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually improved in the past month - peaking in a closely contested three-set victory over opponent Corentin Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's initial trophy since the Italian tournament and maiden on a hardcourt since March of the previous year.
Success also means Medvedev has won twenty-one victories at 21 various events.
"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a tournament with my two daughters together, so to win a championship is particularly special," commented ranked player Medvedev.
"This title is in tribute of my child her name, because the maiden victory I achieved when my older daughter her name was born was for her."
The tennis star, the former major winner, had been defeated in his last six title deciders, featuring in that event in the past months.
His retrieving play style and regular reactions on court had prompted observers to question if his skill to compete at the highest level was concluded.
However the athlete has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, striving to advance forward and play aggressively, supported by an better serve.
Medvedev recovered from a break down in the opening set against the challenging opponent, winning 4 of the concluding five games to gain the advantage.
The pair traded breaks in the middle set before Moutet, striving for his first ATP Tour championship, gained dominance to create a third set.
He saved 4 initial break points in a competitive third set before the Russian broke to that score to secure the win.
Suitably, he earned victory with a point at the front of the court, with Moutet incapable to manage a shot after over two and a half hours.
