Large-scale Russian Strikes Cut Power Across Ukraine's Capital

Power facilities under attack in the region
The country's energy systems have faced escalating attacks in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Russian aerial assaults have resulted in power cuts in large parts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were hurt while inhabitants in eastern districts were experienced blackouts and faced disruption to drinking water, according to municipal leaders.

Simultaneously, a young boy was lost their life in a different aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia region in the country's south-east, as reported by local officials.

Russian forces has escalated attacks on energy facilities over the past few days, while the country's government has demanded "substantial measures" from allies to increase pressure on Russia.

"What is required is not symbolic gestures but strong steps - from the US, European nations and the G7 - in supplying defensive weapons and enforcing restrictions," mentioned in a social media post.

Officials stated that numerous aerial vehicles and more than 30 projectiles attacked energy facilities, characterizing such attacks as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as winter approaches.

Government representatives said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and maintenance teams were working to fix the damage.

A series of attacks hit electrical systems and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Multiple people injured in the assaults on the city have been taken to hospital, as confirmed by municipal representatives.

Area administrators said the city experienced significant strikes overnight. A seven-year-old child was killed and multiple civilians were hurt.

The assaults succeed nights of bombing campaigns in the region, portions of which are occupied by invading troops.

All of Ukraine is under warning for advanced weapon attacks, which are tougher to identify.

National leaders told reporters that Moscow was purposely seeking to demolish the national power system, with attacks already disrupting fuel infrastructure.

Officials stated utility staff and government agencies were anticipating further attacks.
