The Soldiers Table Unveiled
Episode 3 concluded with a dramatic pause and introduced the initial group of characters who will branch out from the central cast to undertake their separate journey, separate from the additional parties.
The Soldiers table consists of Teor (played by Travis), Thimble (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), the cleric (Sam), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).
Why Split the Party?
Considering a large ensemble, it was evident from the outset that having everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
Hence, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, weaving together the characters’ stories before splitting into three smaller tables: Fighters, Strategists, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Warrior Group
According to the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for adventurers who enjoy a classically intense battle-oriented gameplay experience where diplomatic options are few and far between.
Upon first impression, characters like the hesitant healer Wicander might appear unsuited, but the actions of the latest installment make it clear why these five characters are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
First, the party has a clear idea where to go next after a brutal initial meeting with the enemy group.
Casimir of Thjazi Fang—whose death started the narrative’s action—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his own means, breaking into the secret base, attacking the rogue, and taking all the powerful objects to auction.
The traitor then paid off his liabilities and escaped to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.
Character Drivers
Additionally, each character has a specific drive to exit the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, seeks vengeance.
- The adventurer has experience in the northern area and advises that it is a nasty environment.
- Tyranny and The healer, having disobeyed his house’s orders to eliminate the target and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
- Yet, their reputation as prominent individuals in the powerful family could help the party enter locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Additionally, The grateful character pledged a life debt to The savior for his deliverance and will now go with him anywhere.
Fugitives
Finally, all of them are sought by the rulers that rule Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making staying in the city dangerous:
- Thimble and The hero are notorious outlaws.
- The strong figure and Wicander defied the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.
This results in them few options but to travel to the remote area in pursuit of the traitor.
Future Episodes
From the recent installment’s Cooldown, we discover that the combat party will be absent the following episode, leaving the rest of the cast members to round up the Questers and Planners groups.
Fans can expect finding out which adventurers will be assigned to which table in the season’s concluding setup installment, streaming live on next week.
